The Badminton Centre at CSE is one of India’s leading high-performance training environments. Designed to meet international standards, it is home to the Centre for Badminton Excellence (formerly PPBA), where some of India’s finest players, including PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen, continue to train and grow. With world-class infrastructure, expert coaching, and a strong culture of discipline and excellence, the facility represents India’s commitment to nurturing badminton talent and building future champions.

Centre for Badminton Excellence (Formerly PPBA)
India’s pathbreaking badminton academy was established in 1994 by Prakash Padukone, Vimal Kumar and Vivek Kumar, with a clear vision to provide Indian players access to consistent, high-quality training within the country. Over three decades, it has produced national champions, Olympians, Arjuna Awardees and Commonwealth Games medallists. Champions who have trained here include P.V Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, Ashwini Ponnappa, Pullela Gopichand, Arvind Bhat, Anup Sridhar, Dipankar Bhattacharjee and Aparna Popat.

Padukone School of Badminton (PSB)
Launched in June 2025 on Prakash Padukone’s 70th birthday by Deepika Padukone, the school was created to take his training philosophy to a wider, younger audience and build a clear pipeline into high-performance badminton.
Mentored by Prakash Padukone, it follows a standardised coaching methodology, serving athletes from foundation to advanced pathways, while also supporting coaches seeking structured, scalable systems.
